Brazilian Jiu Jitsu for Beginners in Ealing

Our beginners’ Brazilian Jiu Jitsu course in Ealing is built for people starting BJJ for the first time.
You can begin with a free trial class and then move into our structured 6-week beginners’ programme, where you’ll train in a supportive environment and learn the fundamentals of BJJ at a comfortable pace.

How to Get Started

Classes we recommend for beginners:

Tuesday – Beginners’ No-Gi (7.15-8.30pm)

Wednesday – Fundamentals Gi (7.30-8.30pm)

Saturday – Women’s Only Class (10.45-11.45am)

 

Most beginners attend a mix of beginners and fundamentals classes while they settle into training – our coaches will guide you every step of the way.

Continuing After the Beginners' Course

Many members continue attending beginners and fundamentals classes alongside mixed sesssions as they settle into full training

What to expect in your first class?

  • Warm-up:
    1. Break-fall practise
    2. Grappling movement drills
    3. Partner drills
  • Technique:
    1. Learn pins, passing sequences, sweeps and submissions
    2. Techniques will follow same theme for several weeks
  • Sparring:
    1. Positional sparring: Fully resisted sparring from specific positions
    2. Open sparring: Test your skills freely

What to bring with you?

  1. Clean gi and belt
  2. Rashguard or t-shirt underneath gi if desired
  3. Women can choose to wear a rashguard, t-shirt or just a sports bra underneath their gi
  4. Flip-flops/Sliders (To be be left at the side of the mats as training on the mats is barefoot)
  5. Water bottle (There is a water fountain just outside the hall for refills)
  6. Mouthguard for sparring (optional)

  3. Flip-flops/Sliders (To be be left at the side of the mats as training on the mats is barefoot)

Club Rules & Hygeine Requirements

  • No shoes/slippers on the mat. Slippers/Shoes must be worn once you leave the mat. No barefoot off the mat
  • Both sets of nails (hands, feet) should be cut short
  • Any cuts or abrasions should be covered before a session
  • Visitors must make sure that they turn up to sessions in clean, non-smelly attire
  • Any possible skin infections must be presented to the coach before joining the class
  • Respect the tap. Tap early, tap often so that you can keep training. This will be taught.
  • Look after your training partners. Apply everything with control.
